March is for Magnificent
1February 28, 2012 by jaimieeve
It’s always wonderful to welcome new talent to the M.I.A. stage.
March 12th brings one of our favorite ladies, Lyz Soto, back to the stage, but this time accompanying her are exciting newbies Gizelle Gajelonia and Genevieve Manset, both local writers here in Hawai’i.
We are also happy to welcome Krys Lee, author of Drifting House, born in Seoul, South Korea, but raised in California and Washington. She was a finalist for Best New American Voices in 2006, received a special mention in the 2012 Pushcart Prize XXXVI, and her work has appeared in The Kenyon Review, Narrative, California Quarterly,
Asia Weekly, the Guardian, and she has articles forthcoming in Condé Nast Traveller (UK) and the New Statesman.
Read about her and her book on npr.org here or watch her talk about her process here on CBS.
We’re ridiculously thrilled to see these four women perform their work & hope you can join us!
