Mixing Innovative Arts, founded in 2009, is an event and workshop series that provides the community with art and literary interactions across “academic,” “literary” and “non-literary” lines. M.I.A. fosters a welcoming environment for artists, writers, musicians and performers to share their work with an audience, hoping to inspire as well as provide a creative space for the community. Anyone and everyone is invited to join – we prefer it that way.
If you are an artist, performer, writer, or musician and would like more information on how to become involved in our monthly event, email firstname.lastname@example.org introducing who you are, what kind of work you do, and why you want to perform.
M.I.A. is also interested in collaborative events with local/national publications, organizations, and schools, as well as sponsoring arts or literary-related events. In the past, M.I.A. has collaborated with Bamboo Ridge Press, Hawaiʻi Review, Tinfish Press, the University of Hawai’i English Department, and more.
Our monthly events are currently held at Fresh Cafe’s Loft in Space (831 Queen St.) on the third Monday of every month, unless otherwise noted.
